Biography:
Makoto’s mother was a showgirl once, and she was damn good at it. More than that, she was beautiful as hell, too, and ended up attracting the attention of the main talent at her establishment. After said talent was targeted by the yakuza, however, Ritsuko Okada was left to raise her son by herself—that is, until she met Takeshi Majima. He wasn’t quite the whirlwind romance her first lover was, but he was stable, and while they were married, she grew to love him, too.
Makoto was born on a lovely day in November, happy and healthy and endlessly curious. He was a troublemaker ever since he learned how to crawl, constantly poking his nose in things that didn’t concern him and getting into dangerous situations. It got even worse when Makoto was ten and his father died, these ‘dangerous experiences’ being good distractions to keep his dad’s death off his mind.
Makoto became a juvenile delinquent, barely passing high school and constantly getting into fistfights with the other boys. Even after graduation, not much changed, as Makoto continued to shoplift from convenience stores, destroy public property, and rip people off their money. His saving grace is that he at least never joined a gang, though he still has significant influence over the yellow-coloured G-Boys due to their leader being Makoto’s best friend.
The only thing that snapped Makoto out of senses was when one of his friends ended up murdered, the useless police forcing Makoto to end some of his iffy habits and pick up the pace to catch his friend’s killer. This impromptu detective work has turned Makoto into a bit of a known name in Ikebukuro as the “universal troubleshooter”—the guy who can probably help you with anything you need, even if he tends to complain about it being a pain in the ass. He’s reliable in all the right ways, but he does have the tendency to take the law into his own hands.
Makoto’s a good guy, really. It just takes a lot of coarse layers to get to that inner goodness.
